Wineries, Geysers, and Petrified Logs?!

Just got back from Napa. I won a free nights' hotel in Calistoga at my company XMAS shin-dig, so I decided to take advantage of it before my weekends are occupied reporting news...

We started at that Coppolla joint. Here's me wishing I owned such a staircase:

And here's a nice one of me Missus at the fountains:

From there we went to "Old Faithful"... (No not in Wyoming, Eizelle!)

After that, our camera died. So I guess I'll just tell you about the rest. We ate sushi, checked into the hotel, took a steam bath and sauna, walked around downtown Calistoga, bought candy, ate mexican food, drank hot buttered rums, had another steam bath, ate cookie dough ice cream and (being the oldie I am) I was asleep by 11! Eidelyn stayed up much later watching Eurotrip!

The next morning... after a lovely waffle breakfast, we bought batteries for the camera and were off to The Petrified Forest.

Here's me navigating the trail:

And on a Bridge:

We met a bear along the way:

He was nice:

But he scared the petrified crap out of me anyway:

sorry... couldn't resist.

One last pic of the happy couple:

and the weekend ends...

Tomorrow I start training at KLIV.

God Give Me Strength.
